Bio

Starting playing records nearly six years ago at age 16. Was a keen musician from early days, playing guitar from the age of twelve. Was heavily influenced by the rave sounds of the early nineties, which led him into purchasing a bunch of acid techno/trance records in the early days. Pip landed himself a regular spot with the TBA/TBH boys and was in full support of their movement for the first couple of years, with a weekly residency at Alkalyne @ CBD in 1999.

In the same year played at the Melbourne United parties @ POW, and some of the Floorplay parties. At this stage evolving into more of a progressive techno/tech-house sound, he was lucky to be included in the Rising Sons room line-up for Welcome 2000. Continued with the Floorplay crew in 2000, also picking up residencies at TEK - HQ @ Commercial Lounge, Nonsense @ Crisp, and later LOGIC @ Seven, with spots at Reverb @ Commercial Lounge.

Moving into the deep, fat, and funky sounds of the US West Coast and underground UK, spent a good eight to ten months at LOGIC, supporting the likes of Christian Smith, Thomas Schumacher, Billy Nasty, Doc Martin, Josh Wink & the Sabotage crew from Sydney. Was picked up again for Welcome 2001 NYE, and in that year moved to Salt with the BAMBOO crew to keep it tribal. Also played at Stacey Pullen and Dave Angel (INNOVATOR) parties, Solid Session @ Seven, and the Love Parade Club Tour for Hardware. Late last year Bamboo moved to ROOM 680, where he held a residency until mid-2002. Over the past half year he's had a short residency @ Altitude Friday nights with the Essential crew & and again @ Seven Saturday night for Niteshift.

Other gigs in the past have included spots at The Lounge, Candy Bar, Spy Bar, The Vineyard, Hotel St. Kilda (e-bar), Big Mouth, 161, The Kitchen, Ibiza Bar, The Goods Shed, Hardware Universe (Kryal Castle), Felix Da Housecat & Junior Sanchez (UN Ltd), Phreakin NYE 2002 & Phreakin Easter at ROOM 680, as well as Phreakin events @ Two Floors Up
